IHOS is grateful for donations to the IHOS Angels Chorus, which over the years, have been used to provide places for students in our Laboratory Training program and supported the creation of over 25 new Australian music theatre works.

For example, a donation of $60 provides one hour of specialist training for young singers and all donations above $2 are fully tax deductible. International and national research shows that music contributes to all major learning outcomes, the transmission of cultural heritage and value; and the creativity, identity and capacity for self-expression within a community. According to the National Review of Music Education 2005, while there are examples of excellent music education in schools, many Australian students miss out due to of the lack of equity of access. We believe that IHOS fulfils an essential role in providing free and accessible training in stagecraft and musicianship through the IHOS Training Laboratory and in fostering the creation of new and exciting music theatre that reflects our history, stories and community.

Volunteers – working in many different ways – provide valuable support to IHOS, helping to realise fully-staged productions, and contributing to the management of a performing arts company. The volunteer program also contributes to the education and access aims of IHOS, by creating opportunities for people to develop their skills and interest in contemporary music theatre and opera.
